Daniel Stallard
Firstly, welcome to my web site.

My name is Daniel Stallard and I was born in Swansea, South Wales in 1974, I now live in central Swansea, working from my home studio. My passion for painting began when I was very young, entering my first competition when I was only five. As a child, my heroes weren’t like other children, I found my inspiration from artists such as Constable, Turner and Pissaro. I was never happier than when painting a picture, but it wasn’t until my teens, when I was given an oil painting set for Christmas that I really fell in love with painting.

After school I went on to study a National Diploma in foundation Art & Design at Carmarthen College of Art (Jobswell Campus) 1992-93 and then on to Southampton Institute of Higher Education 1993-96, where I achieved a BA(hons) in Illustration/graphic design. After finishing my degree I started work, unfortunately not as an artist. It took until 2007 for me to finally listen to my heart and not my head and follow my dreams. Early last year I picked my brushes up again and I can honestly say that I have fallen in love with painting once more.

Now, how can I explain my work to you, well it began with a fascination with colour, I was getting quite distracted by flowers, in the park, countryside or just in someone’s front garden. I became entranced by the beauty in the shapes, the movement, light and colour. So when I started to paint again, flowers became my perfect subject. Since then the more I paint the more I find to paint. Each painting has become a progression from the last, I find when nearing the end of each painting that I am full of excitement regarding all the new creative ideas, colours and textures I wish to implement in my next work. This enjoyment for painting is what I hope resonates throughout my work, and is what you receive from it.

I hope this gives you a brief glimpse about myself and my work and that you enjoy browsing this site. If you have any queries, questions or wish to purchase any work, please contact me on any of the numbers or addresses on the contacts page. Lastly, I would like to thank you very much for visiting this site.

My very best wishes,

Daniel Stallard
