Firstly welcome to my web site. My name is Daniel Stallard and I am an Artist living and working in Swansea. I get asked regularly to explain my work, mainly I get asked ‘why flowers?’ so I think this may be a good starting point.

WHY FLOWERS?  

About three years ago I noticed them, I know that may be a strange thing to say but before that flowers were just there. Then one day I couldn’t get enough, every where I looked there they were, these ‘little explosions of colour’, all I knew was I desperately wanted to paint them. It began with a simple study of a tulip, this led on to sunflowers, then cosmos, daffodils and so on. To this day, I am still on this wonderful journey of discovery, I dont know when it will come to a conclution but for now I still feel I have a lot I wish to explore.

COLOUR

I find colour to be uplifting, so it is my aim as an artist to share my experiences through colour. I believe this to be what first drew me to flowers as a subject.

AS AN ARTIST

I love the creative process. You start with an idea, a moment of inspiration, and you're off on another enjoyable journey and sometimes the end result is a piece of ART.

OIL PAINTING

Everytime I have a brush in one hand and some oil paints on a pallet in the other, you will notice I am smiling. I have always loved the medium and after experimenting with many others I always come back to oils.
